Among the goals of the Producer Groups in Bangladesh is to organize rural destitute women and provide them with skills and education for the production of handcrafts as a supplementary source of income for their socioeconomic development. These groups also initiate welfare activities for these women such as housing, educational, recreational and health care facilities for better living conditions.
