Butterfly Wing Pendant Necklace

Handcrafted by fair trade silversmiths in Peru, these butterfly wing pendants were created from real butterfly wings. These beautiful insects are not killed just to make jewelry and a profit, but rather their wings are collected after the butterflies have expired naturally. Raised in butterfly farms both in Peru and United States, these butterflies typically have a life span of anywhere from a month to one year. Their wings are preserved and sent on to Peruvian artisans in Lima, where they begin the jewelry making process.
