Real Butterfly Wing Earrings

These butterfly wing teardrop style earrings are created from real butterfly wings. Fair trade artisans from Lima, Peru, meticulously place the delicate wings inside of two pieces of acrylic glass, and then seal around the glass with sterling silver. Wings are collected after the butterflies have expired naturally, so you can rest assured that no butterflies were harmed in the process. Raised in butterfly farms both in Peru and United States, these butterflies typically have a life span of anywhere from a month to one year. Their wings are preserved and sent on to Peruvian artisans in Lima, where they begin the jewelry making process. Each set of earrings comes in a gold foil box, and is ready for gift giving.
