These adorable baby booties are made by the Sololá Weaver’s Group. The booties are reversible and very soft. One side has an ethnic, ikat pattern, the reverse side is solid color. The Sololá Weaver’s Group is made up of 22 Kakchiquel mayan women who make finely woven backstrap pieces using traditional tie-dye technique called Ikat (or jaspe). The group is made up of widows and their daughters who came together to earn a living after the violence of the 1980’s. Made from 100% cotton fabric, backstrap woven by Fair Trade Weaver’s in the Guatemalan Highlands. Machine washable and amazingly sturdy.
